Bodydowsing

E-mail Print PDF

If we consider dowsing as a method to help us decide what's best for us, for our body, even for our wallet (so we don't buy stuff we don't really need), then we should probably carry a dowsing instrument with us all day: to the grocery store to see which foods are healthiest for us; to choose which brand of vitamin C is most beneficial for us, even to find out if a book is worth buying.

However, as most people are not comfortable walking through a store with their pendulum or tensor, we were looking for a tool we could use in a much more discreet way. This tool is the body itself.

Body dowsing uses the response of our body in a simple and quick way to tell us if our body is attracted to or repelled by something.

The body falls forward for a "yes" and backwards for a "no".

How does it work?

•    Stand straight and relax. Keep your feet together and try to feel how your body is always slightly moving. (Standing on two feet is not as stable a position as four feet of a table would be.)

•    Usually a "yes" or "confirmation" lets the upper body fall slightly forward (towards an object, if you're testing something specific). A "no" would make you fall backward, as if being repelled by it.

•    Now ask a question where the body would show a clear "yes" response. You can start with "Show me a yes" or just ask: "Is my name ____ (your own name)?"  If this is a true statement, the body will start to move forward.

Once you have some practice with "yes" and "no" answers you can ask questions like "Is this bed location healthy for me?" or "Is this house healthy for me to live in?". You even can ask which one of our tools might be most beneficial to support and protect you at this time. It is not necessary to hold the object in your hand when you ask. You might just look at a picture on a website or even just think of the object.

Some additional thoughts:

It is usually easier to answer questions for other people or for situations where you are not personally involved. Dowsing for yourself can be tricky and requires practice. If there is any emotional entanglement or bias toward a possible outcome, it is better to call a friend - ideally someone who is neutral on the topic to be tested. Don't tell them your question. Just ask them to test for yes/no answers while you go through the different questions in your mind - one at a time.

Most people's bodies respond in the way described. Sometimes, however, the response is opposite: backward for a "yes" and forward for a "no". We call this "being switched". Switching can occur when the body is overloaded, extremely stressed or exhausted.  Massaging your Kidney-27 points below both your collar bones can reverse that. Also do some deep breathing and light tapping on head and heart as taught in BODYTALK.

Please also remember, the more specific the question, the clearer the answer. And if you just can’t seem to get an answer, leave it and try again later.
